Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that over 1 crore households in India have registered under the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed, "Registrations have been pouring in from all parts of the nation. Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh have seen over 5 lakh regulations." Rooftop solar scheme registration will help Indian citizens utilise solar energy, and avoid paying huge electricity bills.
The Union Cabinet headed by PM Narendra Modi approved this rooftop solar scheme last month, and the total expenses of installing solar panels will be ₹75,021 crore.
The scheme covers 60% of the cost of the 2 kW systems and 40% of the additional systems. The entire CFA will be 3 kW, which means there will be a subsidy of Rs 30,000 for 1 kW systems, Rs 60,000 for 2 kW systems, and Rs 78,000 for 3 kW systems. Usually, a 3 kW system generates more than 300 units per day, and it’s enough to run for household uses.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also urged those who haven't yet registered for the rooftop solar scheme to do so promptly, highlighting that these solar systems not only generate sufficient energy for household needs but are also environmentally friendly.
